Icon Painting Online Course - The Holy Prophet Eljah PART 2: Painting in Egg Tempera

From Jan. 3-6th Painting the Holy Prophet Elijah in Egg Tempera

Learn how to paint an icon of the Holy Prophet Elijah based on the superb image found in the medieval glass of Canterbury Cathedral.

This will be based on the design demonstrated on the December Course. Students can either prepare their own sketch or use one made by myself as the basis for their own painting. 

A copy of the final painted icon will be provided prior to the course start.

This is part of the on-going Academy Course in Icon Painting and follows our usual pattern.

Training will consist of a of a live presentation via Zoom to the class of the drawing process with a full explanation of how the design is developed from this original piece of exceptional medieval iconographic stained glass. This will be presented twice each day, at 10am - 11.30am, and 7-8.30pm (Rome time) during which the same demonstration will be broadcast. You don't need to attend both but are free to do so if you wish. Recordings will then be uploaded to YouTube as a permanent reference. 

Class sessions will include time for fellowship, prayer, reflection and theological/spiritual input. It will give a super opportunity to stop and reflect on the deeper meaning of Christmas, taking 'time out' for reflection, prayer and a coming closer to our Saviour as we prepare to celebrate celebrate the Epiphany.
